TeAM specifics
A. Each Team can consist up to 6 players (5 players and Max. 1 substitute) .
B. At any point of time, whist the team is in possession of the ball, ONLY 3 players are allowed to be in the court and whilst the team is defending, a maximum of 2 players are allowed.
C. A minimum of 1 female is required in the court at any point of time for each game.
D. Any team with no girls in the court would be disqualified.
E. In the event that all the female players in the team are injured and there are no more female players left, it would be an instant walkover.
F. ONLY registered team players are allowed to participate in the match
.
Rules and Regulations
A. Players’ Equipment and Attire
i. Players are required to be barefooted when playing. Socks and/or elastic ankle and/or foot wraps are allowed but optional.
ii. NO objects that may cause injury to any player is to be worn, including any kind of jewellery such as watches, bracelets, pins, etc.
iii. Players may wear glasses at their own risk.
iv. In the event two different teams wear similar-colored top, a coin toss will determine which team will wear the bibs. Teams having players who wear random tops will wear the bibs too.
B. Reporting
ii. Announcement of the next game will be made during the half time of the previous match.
iii. It will be a walk over if teams are still missing 5 minutes into game time.
C. Rules
i. Player must tap the ball before starting the game and must pass out immediately.
ii. When a player gets touched, a roll ball must be performed at the spot where the touch was being affected. Legs have to go over the ball.
iii. A team would retain possession of the ball until four touches are being affected, or when they lose the ball to the opposing team due to an infringement of some sort.
iv. Acting half is allowed to run with the ball. When the acting half gets touched, it is considered as one of the four touches. The acting half can score.
v. All players from the defending team must move back 3 metres from the attacking player performing the roll ball.
vi. Defending team can only start to move forward when the acting half touches/picks up the ball.
vii. If a touch is effected on the ball in flight, by a defending player, the attacking team must retain possession for the touch count to continue. The attacking team will be awarded four touches again if the last touch that causes the ball to drop to the ground is by the defending team.
viii. The attacking team can restart the game after a try regardless of whether the opposition team has 2 players on the court, as long as a tap of the ball is effected.
The following will be considered fouls and the referee has the final decision on how to award the penalty
i. Throwing the ball away at change of possession.
ii. Fighting or using physical force in the game (Eg: pulling another player’s shirt on purpose).
iii. Back talking referees.
iv. Swearing.
iv. Continual breaches of rules.
A. Tap Penalties
Tap penalties will be awarded in the following cases:.
i. Obstruction.
ii. Forward pass.
iii. Player Misconduct
iv. Touch Pass.
a) When the attacking player passes the ball after an effective touch.
v. Off the Mark.
a) If attacking team does not dump the ball at spot that they got touched, there is a penalty ie change possession and team now has to back 5 metres.
vi. When the defending team is repeatedly offside when trying to make the touch.
vii. Failing to perform roll-ball where the touch was effected.
viii. Rough Touch.
ix. Forward Pass.
x. Unsportsmanlike Behaviour.
** For all tap penalties, the defending team has to move back 5 metres from the mark. If the defending team fails to move back 5 metres, the referee can award another 5 metres advantage.
The attacking team must tap the ball with the foot to start replay and will earn 4 fresh touches
GAME PLAY
A. Competition Play
i. The teams will be divided into two groups. The Preliminary Round will be played on a single round robin League system of 7 minutes each halve (1 minute break in between) with the scoring as follows:
Win – 3 Points,
Draw – 1 point,
Lose – 0 points,
Walkover – 2 Points.
In the event that more than two teams tie for a place for the Quarter-Finals, the team with the highest goal difference will qualify. Should there still be a tie after applying this rule, then the team with the highest number of goals qualifies. Should there still be a tie after applying this rule, then the teams qualifying for the Quarter Finals will be decided by looking at the head-to head results.
ii. Teams that qualify for the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals will be playing on a Single Knockout System of 9 minutes each halve (2 minutes break in between).
The winner of the game is the team that scores the most points within the time limit.
In the event of a draw in the Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Finals, the GOLDEN GOAL
rule applies.
B. Sudden Death (GOLDEN GOAL):
i. This would mean that after the original match time limit, each team is allowed to attack and defend once. The captains would use a coin toss to decide which team attacks first.
ii. After one team attacks, they would have to defend. This would mean that one play has occurred. The team that manages to score and prevent the other team from scoring during that one play will win the match. One play constitutes 4 touches.
iii. In the event that both teams fail to score, the match would continue in this manner until one team scores the winning point.
C. Time-out
Time will only be stopped for :
i. Half-time
ii. Period of time needed to adjust positioning for free kicks and penalty kicks.
iii. Injuries resulting in substitution o:p>
iv. Fouls
There will be no stoppage of time for rolling substitutions .
Misc
1. Every decision made by the organizing committee will be final.
2. Players are not allowed to wear any jewellery, accessories and watches. Ear studs are acceptable.
3. Players are advised to be in comfortable attire.
4. No footwear will be allowed during this game, socks are optional.
5. Girls are not allowed to wear skirts.
6. Profanities are forbidden on court. Players will be warned and will be asked to leave the game if he/she had been warned repeatedly.
7. Players are required to keep their fingernails short.
8. No violent behaviour with the intention to hurt other participants and non-participants alike will be tolerated. Any intentional violence will result in instant expulsion for the player/s from the match.
9. Players are not allowed to pull the shirt of their opponents.
10. Signing on the verification slip would indicate that the whole team agrees that the score that is present on the slip at that point of time is accurate.
