ii. Players are required to be barefooted when playing. Socks and/or elastic ankle and/or foot wraps are allowed but optional.
iii. NO objects that may cause injury to any player is to be worn, including any kind of jewellery such as watches, bracelets, pins, etc.
iv. In the event two different teams wear similar-colored top, a coin toss will determine which team will wear the bibs. Teams having players who wear random tops will wear the bibs too.
v. Players may wear glasses at their own risk.
B. Reporting
ii. Announcement of the next game will be made during the half time of the previous match.
iii. It will be a walk over if teams are still missing 5 minutes into game time.
C. Pull/Kick-off
To begin play, players from each team line up at their end zone which is marked by a white tape and the defence team pulls (throws) the disc to the other team as a "kick-off". Pulls are long throws, and they are thrown in efforts of giving the offensive team poor field position and a chance for the defence to get down the field soon enough to stop advances. The team that starts the Pull at the beginning of each game, is determined by a toss of coin. Following which, the pull is made by the team who scores. Each time a goal is scored, the teams would have to switch the direction of their attack.
D. Scoring
i. A point is scored when a player catches a pass in the end zone when his team is attacking.
ii. The receiver must be completely in the end zone when he/she scores. (Catching the disc on the line, is not considered a score).
iii. A player cannot score by running into the end zone with the disc. Should the player’s momentum carry him or her into the end zone after obtaining possession of the disc, the player must bring the disc back to the front of the goal line and play from there.
E. Change of Possession
An incomplete pass results in a change of possession. When this happens, the defence immediately becomes the offense and gains possession of the disc where it comes to a stop on the field of play, or where it first travelled out of bounds. Play does not stop because of a turnover.>
Reasons for turnovers:>
i. Throw-away — the thrower misses his target and the disc falls to the ground.
ii. Drop — the receiver is not able to catch the disc.
iii. Block — a defender deflects the disc in mid flight, causing it to hit the ground.
iv. Interception — a defender catches a disc thrown by the offense .>
v. Out of bounds — the disc lands out of bounds, hits an object out of bounds or is caught by a player who lands out of bounds or leaps from outside the playing field.>
F. Stall-Count
The thrower may not hold the disc for more than ten seconds. Once he establishes his pivot foot, he must pass off the disc within ten seconds. As soon as the marker is within two steps from the thrower, he should start the stall-count. This must be loud enough for the thrower to hear and evenly paced based on one-second per count. If the thrower falls to pass off the disc before the utterance of the “T” of the ten, it is considered a turnover and a change of possession occurs.>
G. The Marker
There must be only 1 defensive player marking the throw at all times. The defender must be at least one disc’s diameter away from the thrower.>
H. End of Game
The game ends when 10 minutes is up. If there’s a tie, there will be an over-time and the team that scores the next point wins the game.>
A. Travelling
i. The Thrower should not be running with the disc at any point of time. Once he has caught the disc and has established his pivot foot, he must pass off the disc while maintaining his pivot foot. Should he lift his pivot foot, the opponents can call a “Travel” on him, and he must return to where he originally caught the disc from.
B. Strip
In the event when the offensive player has the possession of the disc, the defensive player is not allowed to snatch the disc away. If this occurs, the player in possession should call a “Strip” and disc should go back to the offensive player if there are no contests.
C. Picks
No player may establish a position, or move in such a manner, so as to obstruct the movement of any player on the opposing team; to do so is considered a “pick”.
GAME PLAY
A. Competition Play
i. The games in the group stage will be played in a round robin format. Each game will last for 10 minutes, made up of 2 halves of 5 minutes each with a short interval of 1 minute to change sides.
ii. A match is won by the team that scores the most number of points within the time period. In the event of a tie, the team who scores the universal point will win the game. The top 2 teams that win the most matches in each group can then proceed to Quarter-final round. In the event of equal matches won within the group, the highest goal difference shall be used to decide the top-2 teams.
iii. In the event of wet weather, the games will only cease with the permission of the programmer. There is no wet weather programme unless a suitable venue may be found in time. The programmer may choose to delay proceedings if necessary, subjected to DPD (programmes) and Sports Secretary’s approval.
B. Commencement of game
i. All teams must report 5 minutes before their game.
ii. Prior to the start of the game, team captains will represent his team in a coin toss; winner gets to choose either to be offence or defence, while the latter chooses the side of the court.
C. Substitutions
Substitutions are based on rolling substitute system.
i. Substitutions are to be authorized by referee and done when the disc is out of play and before the whistle for service is blown
